Understanding Document Groups

E-mail Print

The model we use for protecting access to individual files is centered around our Document Groups. These are user generated tags which are applied to individual users as well as documents. When a user is given the same tag(s) as a folder or individual file, the user then has access to view those files.

Since any number of document group tags can be assigned to an individual as well as documents, you can make your folder structure as simple or as complex as you wish. The ability to keep it simple is as intuitive as keeping the number of document groups you have to a minimum, but for those companies that need many layers of access, that option is there as well.

Document groups are created and managed by a Company Administrator.

Document groups should not be confused with Company roles & permissions. It only pertains to the access of viewing documents.
