Vendors and other service providers are as varied as the companies they service. In our system you can treat them with as much access to your documents and facilities as you see fit or you can limit them to a single folder.
Here is how we recommend you setup your services providers using a moderate level of access to a typical company and facilities as an example.
First you would typically create a new company role for them. If your company has a lot of service providers, you may wish to create a role which will clearly identify which group of service providers will have this role. A newly created company in our system will have a default role named "Service Providers" created for them. This role will have only view-company level access to start.
You can set any number of users to this role now or invite new users to your company and give them this role.
Next create a document group or use an existing document. Newly created companies will have a default document group named "Service Provider Documents" already created. You may want to make this document group more narrowly focused if you wish to keep your service providers as isolated from other documents by renaming the group to something very specific -- or you can leave it as general as it is. We let you decide how complex or simple you want to make it.
All that's left now to do is grant access to specific facilities for this service provider and tag specific folders with this same "Service Provider Documents" document group tag. You can control the options of viewing and uploading on an individual level.
The use of roles and document group tags together like this can give individuals as much or as little access to your documents as you wish.
